You may be eligible for an OWP if you are:
- The spouse or common-law partner of an international student or skilled worker in Canada
- An international graduate applying for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
- An applicant for permanent residence under programs that allow a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP)
- A vulnerable worker under an employer-specific permit experiencing abuse or risk of abuse
- A refugee claimant, protected person, or their family member
- A participant in international agreements, such as the International Experience Canada (IEC) program
- Under special humanitarian or compassionate grounds as recognized by IRCC
