The AAIP uses a points-based system to assess candidates in the Express Entry-linked stream. The primary selection is based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score in the federal Express Entry pool.
However, Alberta also has its own selection preferences, such as:
- A CRS score of at least 300
- Connection to Alberta (job offer, work experience, or relative in Alberta)
- Occupations that support Alberta’s economic development and diversification
Note: There is no separate AAIP calculator, but maintaining a strong CRS profile and aligning with Alberta’s needs increases selection chances.
