To calculate the work hours for the Atlantic immigration program, the applicant must count hours worked in part-time and full-time jobs, including work outside and inside Canada, ensuring a minimum of 12 months. 

  • To calculate working hours, an applicant can:
  • Count hours worked in part-time and full-time jobs
  • Count only paid hours of work
  • Not to count hours when you are self-employed
  • Count hours inside or outside Canada
  • Count hours that were accumulated over 12 months
  • Count work experience acquired while studying

*Note: Volunteering or unpaid internship is not considered for the Atlantic immigration program.
