Canada T Work Visa or Temporary Work Permit is offered to 300,000 plus overseas workers annually. Majority of the overseas workers need this permit to work on a temporary basis in Canada.
Obtaining the Canada T Work Visa is a several steps process, as quoted by the CIC News. A TRV or Temporary Resident Visa can also be obtained to arrive at Canada depending on the nationality of the overseas worker.
Step 1: Labour Market Impact Assessment application by Employer applies if necessary
The employer in Canada must apply to obtain a positive LMIA for hiring an overseas worker through the Canada T Work Visa. LMIA is offered by the ESDC. It will grant a positive LMIA upon being satisfied that no Canadian national or PR holder is available for the job.
Canadian Immigration Officials can also offer the Work Visas without the LMIA. This is in limited circumstances.
Step 2: Temporary Job Offer is made Employer
The Canadian employer can make a provisional job offer to the overseas national after the LMIA is obtained. The employer has to send positive LMIA copy and detailed Letter of Job Offer to the overseas worker.
Step 3: Overseas Worker applies for Work Visa
The overseas worker can apply for the Canada T Work Visa with all these documents to the ESDC.
Step 4: Canada T Work Visa is issued
An officer of the Canada Border Services Agency will offer the Work Visa at the entry point when the overseas worker arrives in Canada.
