The latest draw for the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program happened on the 5th of July. 180 NOIs (Notifications of Interest) were issued to Express Entry candidates with the lowest score being 425.
The Alberta Express Entry Stream searches the Express Entry pool for candidates who meet the requirements of the stream. Express Entry candidates who get a provincial nomination add another 600 points to their CRS score which effectively gets them an ITA for Canada PR.
You do not need a job
offer from Alberta or any previous experience in the province to apply under
the Alberta Express Entry Stream.
The candidate will,
however, need to prove that he has strong ties with the province. The candidate
also needs to have relevant work experience in an in-demand occupation of
Alberta. The Provincial Govt. has not, however, released any such list of
occupations.
The AINP gives
priority to candidates with:
- An offer of employment or previous work
experience in Alberta - A degree from a post-secondary educational
institution in Canada along with a job offer - A sibling, parent, or child already living in
Alberta
So far in 2019, the
AINP has conducted 17 invitation rounds. It has issued a total of 3,996 NOIs in
2019.
The minimum score of 425 in the 5th July draw has
been the highest so far for an Alberta EE stream draw. It is, however, much
lower than the current Express Entry cut-off of 460 points, as per CIC News.
The Alberta Express
Entry Stream has invited candidates with scores as less as 300 four times in
2019. There were three draws where the minimum cut-off was 301 and one with a
cut-off of 302 points.
